Our Principal

Carmi Strom, Principal

Hi, my name is Carmi Strom. I am the proud principal of Webster Academy of Science and The Arts Elementary School. This is my tenth year as the principal of Webster.

For those of you who have never met me, I would like to share a little bit about myself. I was born in the city of Detroit, Michigan. My family moved to San Diego when I was three years old. I grew up near San Diego State University. I attended SDUSD school until I attended SDSU and earned a degree in Outdoor Recreation. I then went to work for the National Park Service, as a Park Ranger. For many years, I had the wonderful opportunity to work in many different national parks around the west including Cabrillo National Monument right here in San Diego. While I was park ranger, I went back to school at SDSU and earned my teaching credential and a Master's degree in education. I taught at Central and Oak Park Elementary schools as a classroom teacher. I was also the Magnet Resource Teacher at Oak Park for six years.  I moved into administration as the vice principal of Wangenheim Middle School in Mira Mesa before becoming the principal of Webster.  I also live right here in the neighborhood. Say hi if you see me at Big Lots or Rite Aid.

I want to thank all of my Webster families for their support during the past two plus years we have been dealing with the worldwide COVID pandemic.  This have been difficult. As the health of the nation improves we will scale back our safety procedures focused on and around COVID.

I am very proud to continue as principal of Webster Academy of Science and The Arts Elementary School. I am looking forward to continue to build lasting relationships and helping to create a wonderful learning environment for our students, families, community, and staff. Please stop by and say hi, my door is always open.
